17th of March, Mona Vale vs. Castle Hill Golf Club @ Lakeside Golf Club Camden
A dark, drizzly, cool morning greeted us @ Lakeside Camden. The team selected to play this week was as follows:

We definitely did not start as we would have liked but steadied the ship very quickly. The match was dead even most of the day, by the time we got to the early to mid back nine, we had ourselves in a very strong position, definitely noses in front. As has happened multiple times this season, just when we looked like we were going to be too good, things went against us again, and we were beaten 4.5-2.5 by Castle Hill, a good group of golfers who thoroughly deserved the win on the day.
A disappointing result and an extremely disappointing season overall for the entire group; however, as I have mentioned before, certainly not through any lack of effort or commitment from the players. Everybody worked hard all season and put in a huge effort; the players conducted themselves with great etiquette as they have done for many decades and displayed great sportsmanship as always. While not too excited about the end result, as a club, we can be very proud of this team.
A special thank you to Team Captain Shannon Cameron, who put in a massive effort preparing this team every week, putting in so much time to assist and guide others as required throughout the season. Well done, mate!
We will be back next year for sure, doing our best to fight our way back into division one where we belong.
