You’re looking at the Golf NSW Senior Order of Merit Champion for 2025 — who also happens to be our General Manager, Andy Hugill. As if that wasn’t impressive enough, he also scored a hole-in-one on the 15th at Cromer during the final event of the year.

For those unfamiliar with the SOOM, it’s a year-long series for male amateur golfers aged 50+, with points awarded across selected events based on scratch scores and finishing positions. The champion is decided by each player’s best 14 results — a true measure of consistency and skill.

It’s been a big month for Andy: first the Excellence in Management Award, now the 2025 SOOM Champion. No more awards this year please Andy — you’re taking up too much of our socials feed! 😂

We’re delighted to share that our General Manager, Andy Hugill was awarded Excellence in Management at the 2025 NSW Golf Industry Awards, held on Monday, 27th October.

This award recognises not only Andy’s outstanding leadership but also the dedication and support of the Board and Management Team who stood alongside him throughout the Club’s major redevelopment. Together, they navigated enormous challenges — from builders going into liquidation to caterers withdrawing, while continuing to move the Club forward.

After several tough years, their combined efforts and perseverance have truly paid off, with the Club now celebrating its first year of achieving an operating profit in excess of $1 million.

In accepting the award, Andy expressed his gratitude to the staff and Board members who have been part of the journey from the beginning, acknowledging their commitment, resilience and belief in the Club’s future direction. This recognition is as much a reflection of their teamwork and shared vision as it is of Andy’s leadership.
