It is with great sadness we wish to advise the passing of our Life Member, Daphne Henderson-Smart, in her 102nd year.
Daphne was a Life Member of MVGC for 20 years from 2003 – 2023.
Daphne joined MVGC in 1965 and served on various committees continuously for 30 years. During this time she was President for 3 years.
Daphne represented the Lady Veterans for 21 years up until 2002. Daphne also represented MVGC on the Barrenjoey Week Committee.
Daphne was always a constant figure at MVGC during her playing years. She was known for enhancing the décor of the club with her beautiful floral arrangements.
When she no longer was able to play she would often join other past members to catch up and enjoy lunch together.
Until recent years Daphne attended the Ladies General Meeting and also end of year Gala Dinners. Remarkedly Daphne’s health only deteriorated in the last couple of years.
Daphne’s funeral will be held on Thursday 6 July at 11 am Northern Suburbs Crematorium South Chapel.
