The General Meeting was well attended last Thursday 30th November. President Anne Tucker thanked the outgoing committee for their contribution and efforts during their time on the committee and gave them beautiful bouquets at the Presentation Dinner. Anne thanked Janelle for her time under especially trying conditions over the last two years. Janelle said it was great to see new members playing more golf and entering into the various competitions. She said goodbye with a final word of encouragement “you have to believe if you want to achieve”.
Anne thanked Louise Gillespie, Peta Gilliland and Janelle Branch for their contribution and effort as Directors on the Board as well as their work on the Match Committee. Also, special thanks was made to Julie Bennett and all the mentors with the Get into Golf program. Thanks was made to the administration and catering staff, Gerard and the pros in the Pro Shop and praised Nick Taplin and his team for the wonderful condition the course is in. Anne publicly thanked the Board of MVGC for all their hard work this year, and they are to be commended for their time and commitment. Lance Barnes attended the General Meeting and thanked the ladies.
He also commented on the ladies’ attendance at both the General Meeting and AGM.
The new Women’s Committee for 2024/25 is President Anne Tucker, Vice President Melissa Mushan, Captain Peta Gilliland, Vice Captain Lisa Spray, Secretary Tricia Smith. General committee Helen Biven, Carole Donaldson, Liz Dunn, Vicki Hand and Rosey Smith.
