Greens Renovations

The greens renovations have been completed. The weather was perfect and all went to plan.

A huge thank you to all the volunteers, who came out on Sunday afternoon. Our large number of volunteers included Phil Jones, David Rose, Harvey Dolman, Chris Jarvis, Mark Sample, Rod Pickworth, Al Thompson, Darshan Brar, Ross Mckay, Michael Falk, Barry Evans, Simon King and Stuart Hill. They all made light work of picking up all the cores, in preparation for sanding and fertilising the greens on Monday morning. This was a big effort and it is greatly appreciated.

While the course was closed, we have managed to re-shape the right-hand side of the 11th green surround. This area has always struggled in the shade and the turf quality is poor. We have trimmed the trees, improved the drainage and will re-turf with kikuyu later this week. Even though it’s a little cold for new turf, we took advantage of the course being closed. The turf will be GUR until the weather warms up in late September.

Local Rule – If your ball comes to rest in the roped off area, please use the nearest drop zone, closest to your ball, even if, it is closer to the hole. This is permitted when using compulsory drop zones. The drop zones will be marked by a sign, as shown below. There will be five drop zones provided; please observe the drop zones before picking up your ball.
