Unfortunately, the 12th green reconstruction felt the full force of the storm. The damage to the green surrounds and bunkers is severe.
On Friday the green staff finished laying the turf to the final parts of the 12th green surrounds. The green surrounds, drainage, irrigation and two of the bunkers will now need rebuilding.
Most of the imported soil which was used to shape the green surrounds has washed away. Parts of the turf and soil can be found as far away as the 13th fairway. The green surface seems to have held together. Some small washouts are evident, but the damage is minimal to the green and collar.
The Club has contacted its insurance company to investigate what can be claimed.
