Strategic Plan Update | Course Projects Delayed, Clubhouse Acoustics & Pergola

In August, we reported on the most recent update in the Club’s strategic plan. We covered a number of topics, which were mostly course related. Since then we have actioned items such as the course renovations, which went well, albeit a little late. We have also removed the trees on the 1st and 11th holes near the wetland. Unfortunately, the contractors for the wetland upgrade on the 1st and 11th, the drainage on the bunkers on the 16th and 17th and the broad acre drainage are still held up at other courses due to the wet weather. This means we have decided to push the sand slitting project on fairways 3, 4 and 13 back, it will now take place in November, post the Club Championships.

Clubhouse Year 2 Actions

In our Summer Survey, members highlighted concerns about the acoustics in The Clubhouse Bar area. To tackle this, we engaged Peace & Quiet Group, led by member (and Owner) Kevin Rule, to help us find the best solution for the space. After testing a range of options, we were recommended noise panels that delivered excellent sound reduction while keeping disruption to a minimum.

The newly installed panels have already made a noticeable difference, lowering overall noise levels and making conversations far easier in the carpeted area in the bar. These new panels, plus the acoustic panels we already have installed in the coffers above the high tables near the bar have hopefully made a significant impact that has address previous member concerns.

In the video below, Kevin explains the science behind the panelling and why it works so well.

The Marquee on the Deck

In early October, the marquees will be removed in preparation for a new outdoor Pergola structure. The Pergola will be used for member events, social gatherings and small functions. The area will have the ability for full shade or partial sun, and it will have retractable sides with heat lamps for the cooler months. This could be the ideal location for members Nine and Dine or host a special occasion to bring your family and friends. Feel free to speak with Kate about all the options. The estimated date for installation will be determined on the application of a CDC that is with the Council.

We will also be installing two small glass vestibules on the two doors that open onto the deck facing the 15th hole. These vestibules will create a wind and weather break during bad weather. We estimate all works to be completed by late November 2025.
