As part of the drainage audit which is currently being actioned by the Course Superintendent, we have begun the sand slitting trial on the 5th fairway. A machine will create a slit around 5-7 mm wide, which will break the current thatch layer and allow all surface water to penetrate the course drainage.
A temporary local rule will be in place for relief from these sand filled trenches.
If your ball is impacted by the sand filled trenches, preferred lies may be taken. 30cm, no nearer the hole.
