Club Championships

This year both our men and women endure some undesirable weather in their Club Championships finals. This however, didn’t stop the fantastic performances on the day. A special mention to our Ladies Club Champion – Peta Gilliland and runner up – Colleen Fleming, who battled some truly cold and horrible weather for 37 holes of golf in their finals match.

Our Club Champion for 2023, and for 2022 and then again in 2021 is ANGUS RADFORD.

Yes, this is Angus’ 3rd time in a row and 4th time overall that he has won our Club Championship. Angus played Bruce Edwards over 36 holes which saw Bruce take the lead 1 up in the first 18 holes, however both of them were under par. The 2nd 18 holes were hotly contested until Angus proved too strong on the back 9 holes.

A Reserve winner is Matt Lee. Matt was up against Harry Woolford. This match was going to be a tough one as Harry is the director of Strokes Gained Studio, a gym that helps you become a stronger golfer. Both players played very well with Matt winning the last hole to win 1 up.

B Grade winner goes to a man who has had a great week, he became one of our Club Directors for 2024 and beat Tony Cimino in the finals to become our B Grade Champ, Tim Flaherty.

C Grade was won at the last hole by Richard Dixon.  Cal Nicholls fought hard for the title, but unfortunately hit his ball into a tree on the 18th and it didn’t come down.

All in all, the Club Championship this year has been a fantastic event. We are very appreciative of the crowds that came out to watch both the men’s and the women’s finals. It creates a great atmosphere when you get to experience the highs and the lows at every hole in a Club Championship Final.
