Ladies Club Championship

Congratulations to our new Ladies Club Champion, Peta Gilliland!

She fought all the way to the 36th hole to defeat Colleen Fleming. The match was extremely even with no more than the odd missed putt here and there for either one of them.

Peta was 1 up heading into the 36th hole. She was on for three and Colleen was on for five, Peta just missed her putt and Colleen conceded the hole. Both Peta and Colleen kept their focus despite the extremely cold wind and rain. Their caddies, Lisa Spray and Niki Hosking did their jobs amazingly well, keeping the golfers focused on their game. There was quite a nice sized gallery who, despite the inclement conditions, followed them around the course and were rewarded by the most exciting and closest 36 hole championship ever at Mona Vale.

Captain Janelle Branch did a great job of refereeing the match, congratulating them both on a wonderful display of golfing at its best.

B Grade & C Grade also venture out in the atrocious weather but were only required to play 18 holes. B Grade made it to the 12th hole with Helen Stead beating Edwina Jones 7 up. While C Grade finished at the 14th hole with Laura Winder beating Annette Mackrill 5 up.

A good effort was made by all the ladies who played last Thursday, you braved some extremely horrible elements.
