Message from the President

Dear Members

Firstly, I would like to thank all the members who have renewed their memberships for 2023-24. Many have paid prior to the end of year and, as of today, the renewals are higher than the same time last year.

As reported last week, we had some trades return to site on Monday 24th July, as well as a temporary site manager to oversee the works. Some of the works completed this week and will continue next week are:

  • Concrete cancer remediation
  • Removal of rubble and spoil from site to ensure site safety
  • Contract carpenter on site on Monday
  • Removal of the branded blue mesh on the perimeter fence and replacement
  • Preparation of housing and delivery of new Main Switch Board (MSB).
  • Continue with investigation works into new consumer mains running between Golf Avenue pillar and new MSB
  • Structural steel plans have been received and currently working through installation with structural engineer
  • Hydraulic contractor will not be back to site due to outstanding funds with SMLXL, this will be managed with new builder.

We met with the builders who are re-tendering to complete the outstanding works. HGW are continuing with negotiations with existing subcontractors & consultants in preparation for replacement Head Contractor to take over.

On Wednesday, the Club met with the National Australia Bank to understand the current loan position and process moving forward. The current loan facility is still in place, as only minimal funds have been drawn to date. We will continue to work with NAB and once the new builder is selected, the bank will work through its own due diligence processes and assist the Club to move forward.

On Monday 31st July, we will meet with HGW to review both submissions from MLP and Mammoth. This will take some time to review and understand the new time frame and costs to complete the project.

We will also meet with Con Dedes on Tuesday 1st August to discuss his proposed design for the upper level as we work together to get the best outcome for all stakeholders.

Have a great weekend and happy golfing.
