Message from the Captain – Golf Course and Etiquette

I would like to remind all members and guests of a few course rules and course etiquette as you play golf at MVGC. Over the past few weeks, the course is starting to show lots of wear and tear with the wet weather and general winter conditions. At this time of year course care is most important. Repairing pitch marks and filling divots with sand goes a long way in keeping our course in great shape.

Following directional ropes and adhering to course signage is crucial in spreading wear, particularly with cart drivers. If there is a concrete pathway, please use it and stay on it. Please do not park on the edge of a tee bank or green surround. If you remove a rope for any reason, please put it back in the same place.

Practicing on the Course

I would like to remind everyone about practicing on the golf course. Hitting multiple balls into greens is prohibited. A maximum of two balls is permitted when practicing on the golf course.  We have seen an increase in groups of divots from people practicing on the fairways late in the day. The photo of divots was found in five different areas on the 13th fairway. This is completely unacceptable behaviour from anyone using the course.
