As New South Wales approaches the 70% fully vaccinated rate, we will all be happy to get some freedom back. Mona Vale Golf Club intends to return to normal operations as soon as possible with most of the facilities being available to members. On Monday 11th October, we will re-open the bunker bar for food and beverage, both inside and outside for fully vaccinated members. According to the NSW government guidelines, members who are not fully vaccinated will only be able to access take away only, and must leave the premises following golf.
Under the New South Wales “Health Orders” they recommend the use of outdoor facilities if you have them available. Over the next few weeks, we will continue with the bunker bar and outside operations as there are fewer rules and regulations in relation to outdoor settings such as 2sq/m per person and standing permitted while eating and drinking.
Inside the bunker bar, all patrons must be seated in line with the 4sq/m rules, this limits the bunker bar to 32 people at capacity. Mask wearing is mandatory inside the bunker bar unless eating or drinking.
The upstairs members bar will be open for the ladies on a Thursday, this is due to the large number of ladies, who have food and beverage at the same time, which is not possible to serve from the kitchen in the bunker bar.
On Monday 11th October, we will welcome back our members, who reside outside the Northern Beaches LGA. We will offer them priority booking on the time sheet for a period of time to catch up on lost golf time. Welcome back everyone.
The following services will be available from Monday 11th October for fully vaccinated members.
Clubhouse
- Bunker bar operation for F&B
- Full access to locker rooms
- Towels, showers and sunscreen will be available
- Score input at the touch screen terminals outside the locker rooms (non MiScore users)
- Two people per cart will be permitted
- Reception will be manned from 10am-3pm Monday-Friday
The following service will be available from Saturday 16th October for all members.
- Two Tee start commences on Saturday 16th October – this will allow up to 250 golfers on busy days
- Compulsory bundy clock usage
- All games restrictions per category will be lifted
- Booking on the night before will remain until further notice
- Priority booking will cease (except outside LGA members)
- All local rules on the golf course will be lifted, including;
o Bunkers back in play with rakes (no preferred lie and raking is compulsory)
o You can touch or remove the flag stick
o Ball washers and bubblers will be back in operation
o Preferred lies will be removed.
Once New South Wales hits 80% fully vaccinated, the Board and management will discuss the next steps and hopefully return to the usual calendar of events. We are hoping to run the Club championships in the month of November as well as other member events.
Thank you so much for your patience over the past 100 days and the last year. It’s been a very different and unusual period for everyone. Please help us by adhering to the rules and regulations, which are health orders set by the NSW Government
