As most of you are aware, our lockdown has been extended until 11.59pm on Friday 30th July due to the ongoing number of infectious cases.
We now have confirmed active cases on the Northern Beaches, so it is even more important that we all stay diligent with our masks, hygiene and social distancing. Checking in and out of the Club and Proshop is essential. Please keep up to date with local exposure sites, these can be found by clicking here.

Clarity on Priority Bookings
The priority booking sheet was introduced to allow any member, who misses a game on a Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday to receive a priority booking for the following week. This is to ensure they don’t miss a game two weeks in a row. In light of having a one day booking procedure, a few issues with the waitlist and priority booking sheet have arisen.
Last Saturday, some members removed themselves from the timesheet due to the wet weather and placed themselves on the waitlist to receive a priority booking for the following week. We cannot cater for poor weather and we are relying on our members to be fair and equitable during these testing times.
To receive a priority booking you must be on the waitlist prior to 9am on the day you are missing out on a game. The timesheet and corresponding waitlist will be closed from 9am on the day of the event. For example, if you added yourself to the waitlist after 9am last Saturday, you will not be eligible for a priority booking this Friday at 1pm.
For all bookings or cancellations from 9am on the day of the event you must call the Pro Shop. With demand this heavy, please consider other members as late withdrawals will result in single bookings only being able to play socially.
Restrictions on games
At this point in time, we have decided not to restrict members on the amount of games being played. To achieve this, we continue to ask all members to consider others during this busy period. Playing two or three times a week would seem a reasonable request. We will continue to monitor members access to the competition sheets and once the priority booking sheet commences this Friday, we will make a decision on whether restrictions on games is required.
Speed of Play in Two Balls
If we are to maximise the competition sheets for members, we must play no longer than 3 hours and 30 minutes while playing in a two ball. This means speed of play is of the utmost importance to ensure all players finish their round. Yesterday, we had at least four groups finish in the dark due to rounds exceeding four hours. We will modify the timesheet on the busy days with the last tee time being 1pm, this will allow for teeing off delays or poor weather resulting in less available light.
Whilst the Bundy clock is not in operation, the need for being mindful of pace of play has not changed. The Board are trialling the use of the round timing function within the MiScore app to monitor round times.
Living outside the LGA
Mona Vale Golf Club will be open for members and public, who reside in the Northern Beaches Local Government Area. Fortunately for us, the 10km radius from Mona Vale Golf Club is well within the boundaries of the Northern Beaches LGA. We will be relying on the integrity of our members as to the eligibility of their residence within the NB LGA. This being said, if requested, you must provide a driver licence to prove you are a resident.
The Board has received a number of member enquiries relating to living outside the LGA. Unfortunately at this stage, we are unable to arrange tee times at other Clubs outside the LGA as they are under pressure from members within their own LGA’s. In the previous Northern Beaches lockdown other Clubs were unrestricted, however this is not the case this time.
We all hope these restrictions are lifted as soon as possible. Thank you for you understanding and patience.
