Cancellation & Booking Changes Effective Immediately – New Covid Restrictions

Dear Members,

Following the NSW Government announcement today, Friday 9th July, further restrictions have been imposed on Greater Sydney, Blue Mountains, Central Coast and Wollongong taking effect from 5pm today.

  • People will be able to exercise only in groups of two (or with their households)
  • People are allowed to exercise within their own LGA or no more than 10km from their homes

Mona Vale Golf Club will be open for members and public, who reside in the Northern Beaches Local Government. Fortunately for us, the 10km radius from Mona Vale Golf Club is well within the boundaries of the Northern Beaches LGA.

Access to the Course comes with very strict conditions, all members must use the Service NSW QR code to sign into the Pro Shop. Masks are mandatory to enter the Pro Shop & Club storage areas. We will once again adopt a single file entrance into the Pro Shop and exit via the club storage. There will be a maximum of 4 people allowed in the Shop at any one time to maintain safe social distancing.

We will be relying on the integrity of our members as to the eligibility of their residence within the NB LGA. This being said, if requested, you must provide a driver licence to prove you are a resident.

Groups have now been limited to two people, which means our timesheets will be restructured to two players per time slot.

Cancellation of all timesheets for the upcoming week

All competition timesheet bookings for the upcoming week including the next 3 Tuesdays will be null and void.

In light of the new restrictions playing in two’s, we will revert back to the model, which worked well around 12 months ago. Wednesdays and Saturdays will have a one tee start from 7am-1.30pm off the 11th tee with the capability of 146 players playing 18 holes, we will have a 10 hole competition from the 1st tee from 7am for 30 players.

Members access to competitions have been given a high priority until Friday 30th July, the booking sheets will be released as detailed below.

Example of release times until Friday 30th July

  •  Booking times for Saturday 10th July will be 1 day prior (tonight at 7pm) – Members competition from 7am till 1.30pm plus 10 hole competition from the 1st tee
  • Booking times for Sunday 11th July is 1 day prior (Saturday night) at 7pm – Members competition from 7am till 1.30pm
  • Booking times for Monday 12th July is 1 day prior (Sunday night) at 7pm – Members competition from 7am till 1.30pm
  • Booking for Tuesday 13th July is 1 day prior (Monday night) at 7pm – 7am till 1.30pm (Members only)
  • Booking for Wednesday 14th July is 1 day prior (Tuesday night) at 7pm – Members competition from 7am till 1.30pm plus 10 hole competition from the 1st tee
  • Booking for Thursday 15th July is 1 day prior (Wednesday night) at 7pm – Members competition from 7am till 1.30pm
  • Friday will be social golf only

The Board has extended the competition times above to accommodate as many members as possible during this unusual period. At this point, we are not restricting the number of games played, however, we would ask that you consider your fellow members by not playing multiple times a week.

Speed of play will be very important during these high demand times, we will not be using the Bundy clock over the coming weeks but we would ask that all members are mindful of their position in the field.

If restrictions ease prior to the 30th July, we will change the timesheets accordingly. However, as we are booking a week in advance, we will assume the restrictions are in place beyond next Friday.

Priority Booking for the week ahead

Any member who misses out on a game for a Wednesday, Saturday or Sunday can again use the priority booking sheet. However, due to the one day booking sheet being released, you will need to call the Club at 1pm, the day prior.

For example, if you miss a game on tonight’s booking sheet for tomorrow and your name is on the waitlist, you can call the Club at 1pm next Friday and book for the following day. You are only permitted to book yourself and one other from the waitlist.

Clubhouse Access

  • Everyone accessing any Clubhouse facilities must check-in and be wearing a mask. QR codes are displayed extensively at all entry points and an iPad is available for manual check-in at the Bunker Bar. Please adhere to social distancing at all times.
  • The member’s locker rooms and public toilet facilities will remain open, however, all shower facilities will remain closed.
  • The Bunker Bar will remain open for a takeaway service only. We will once again adopt a single file entrance into the western door and exit via the southern door. To avoid congestion, the door that leads to the foyer area will remain closed. Please take note that we will limit entry to 4 members at any one time. During this time we would encourage all purchases to be cashless, if possible.
  • The office will only be accessible via phone or email, there will be no access to the Reception area. Reception will be maned from 10am-3pm Monday-Friday and 10am-1pm on Saturday.
