Dear Members,
On Monday night an extraordinary general meeting of the Golf Club was held to discuss a range of motions as put by the Board. These motions dealt with the possible sublease of the top floor of the Clubhouse to an external restaurant operator and changes to the Club constitution regarding membership categories, ages and descriptions. The meeting was attended by 159 members, an unprecedented attendance for any general meeting or information meeting of MVGC.
On behalf of the Board I would like to extend my appreciation to all those who attended, not only for their presence, but the way in which the information presented was received and the constructive manner of the debate that ensued. Obviously the issues under discussion were topical and a range of opinions were evident.
The meeting saw fit to pass all the motions put by the Board. Noted by the Board was the general comment that members need to be kept informed of developments concerning the possible sublease of the top floor and the options for redevelopment of the ground floor.
For those of you that were unable to attend, the General Manager is releasing the information slides that accompanied the Board’s presentation with the intention of all members being informed of the proposals. Furthermore, the concept plan presented to the meeting for the ground floor will be displayed in the Clubhouse with the proviso that it is simply an architectural concept and nothing has been decided.
Thank you again to all members who attended the meeting and for supporting the proposed motions in progressing which aim to improve the future financial sustainability of Mona Vale Golf Club.
Kind Regards,
Ross Fleming
Director
