With the disappointment of last week behind us we were all well prepared and ready to play Concord GC on Sunday here at MVGC. We needed a halved match or a win to secure the division for the year and move on to the Semi-Final.
With Mark McInnes, Alex Munro & Jake Dundas unavailable this week, the line up on the day was:

We all started slowly and as per last week it was very tight early. This continued all day, but I thought we would be too strong for Concord over the closing holes. Unfortunately I was wrong & we lost an extremely close match 4/3. To say we were extremely disappointed would be a significant understatement.
Winners on the day were Andy Hugill, Mac Marr & Angus Radford, who was undefeated for his 3 matches, as was Tom Reeves at Reserve from 3 starts. The highlight for the day was the great golfing I witnessed by Mac Marr, including a lip out for a hole in one on the second hole.
Firstly, I would like to thank our very loyal group of caddies. Well done, top job! Thank you to Sam Neylon & his team for their outstanding work on the course. Ours was the pick of the group without a doubt.
Many thanks to Simon, Kate & Mitch for your efforts. We continued a long tradition of setting the gold standard for hospitality. Finally, a big thank you to Jann Pearson for giving up her time to officiate for us.
It wasn’t the finish to the season that we wanted, but we will be back again in 46 weeks time looking to go one better!
