Congratulations to one of our Cadets, Kallum Grant who has had a promising introduction to competition golf after gaining his handicap in late 2019.
Kallum, son of member Darren Grant and nephew of our pro Josh Lane is an active member of our popular Junior program and is seeing the benefit of all those afternoon lessons.
In July he became the first Mona Vale junior to win our Junior Open in many years, and playing off a 33 handicap he blew the field away with 46 points! Due to Covid, our Cadets weren’t able to play in many competitions throughout 2020 unfortunately however in December he had his opportunity and won the C Grade Medal with a nett 68 giving him eligibility to play in the Gold Medal play-off for 2020.
On Saturday we had our Gold Medal playoff between all the monthly medal winners throughout 2020 and there was some fantastic scoring. Kallum had the best of them all with a nett 63 playing off 28. Needless to say his handicap has taken a big hit to level the playing field.

Another worthy achievement from Saturdays Medal round was at the other end of the age spectrum. Congratulations to Greg Stanford on beating his age for the first time shooting 68 off the stick.
