The “Call” will be returning for a 2 week trial
December 7th saw further changes in restrictions relating to Covid-19 and the capacity of venues. The Club would like to return to the Tuesday and Friday night “Calls” which allowed members to come to the Club and put their names on the timesheet, as we did pre-Covid. However, the goal posts have changed slightly, and there are a few unknowns which the Club must consider prior to returning to the “Call” full time. There are still some restrictions in place and the Club must adhere to them. We are fully aware the “Office of Gaming and Liquor” are still conducting regular inspections in relation to signing in, social distancing, being seated and venue capacity.
Other issues that may arise, if we return to the “Call” are as follows:
- Number of members coming to the Club for booking purposes
- Consideration of venue capacity, both upstairs and downstairs
- Strict regulation of signing in upon arrival
- Percentage of available times on the sheet – (intention would be to return to the same percentage as pre-Covid but without phone bookings)
- 75% of the sheet released at the Club at 5.30pm and 25% released on the internet at 7pm, using the same lottery system.
- Booking in fours could result in some members missing out, having come to the Club.
- Dual operation would be needed to spread volume of patrons, bunker bar and upstairs at the same time.
As most of the above are unknown, we will conduct a two week trial on a Tuesday only to assess the potential teething issues on the above points. The Board and Management will review the two week trial and make required changes, if needed. After the 2 week trial the previous 100% timesheet release will continue with the view of returning to the “Call” fulltime in late January.
If you are new to the Club and have not experienced a “Call” yet, please come down to the Club during this trial period, enjoy a drink and secure your tee time.
TWO WEEK TRIAL PERIOD
TUESDAY 15th and TUESDAY 22nd OF DECEMBER AT 5.30pm.
Due to the signing in process, it is recommended that all members arrive in good time, prior to the scheduled 5.30pm draw. Nobody will be permitted in the Clubhouse without signing into our Visitsafe system. The draw will commence at 5.30pm, if members are still signing in due to not allowing enough time, you could miss your allocated raffle number. The Bunker Bar will operate as per usual on these Tuesdays. The Members Lounge will be open for the “Call” from 4:00pm for members only.
Member’s Badge Draw and Junior Raffle
The member’s badge draw will be drawn at 6pm and will start at $500. You must be in the clubhouse at the time of the draw and claim your prize within four minutes. The Junior raffle will not be run during the trial “calls”, we will wait until the “Call” is back in full operation in 2021 before it returns.
