| The Board met recently to discuss the following recommended changes, however, with the recent numbers of COVID-19 both in NSW and Victoria increasing, the Board will delay the decision in relation to the Tuesday and Friday “Call” at the Club. The Board and management would love to return to the members “Call” at the Club. However, we feel it’s a little premature with the recent spike in COVID-19 cases, as the health and safety of our members is our top priority. The Board and management will review the “Call” in September.
The significant changes will include the following:
Lifting the booking restrictions on competition games
- Change in internet booking times for all competition days
- Continuation of the lottery system for internet booking
- Maintaining the priority booking at 1pm on Tuesdays and Fridays
- Earlier in the week, we advised that the preferred lies rule in the bunkers would be lifted as of the 1st August. We have since received advise from Golf NSW in relation to the increased numbers of Covid-19 and potential issues with local rules. We have decided to continue with the local rule of “preferred lies in the bunker” and not return the rakes until a later date . We would also recommend that the pin remains in the hole while putting (not compulsory but recommended).
Lifting of booking restriction on competition games
As of Monday 3rd August all booking restrictions on allotted competition games will be lifted.
Internet booking times for all competition days
On Monday 3rd August we will changing the internet booking times for all competitions. The Match committee have received lots of feedback on the various internet booking times, much of the feedback was negative with the varying release times confusing most of the membership. To ensure equality and give everyone a fair chance on the internet times, we have decided to change to one booking time each day and keep it at eight days out with the exception of the Tuesday Open competition. For a trial period, there will be NO PHONE BOOKINGS. Unfortunately, the phone bookings are no longer serving the purpose they were set up for, which was non-internet users only.
The internet booking times will be as follows:
Monday 3rd August the internet times will open for Tuesday three weeks in advance. (100% of the sheet online)
- Tuesday 4th August, the internet times will open at 7pm for the following Wednesday 12th August. (100% of the sheet online)
- Wednesday 5th August, the internet bookings will open at 7pm for the following Thursday 13th August. (100% of the sheet online)
- Friday 7th August, the internet booking will open at 7pm for the following Saturday 15th August. (100% of the sheet online)
- Saturday 8th August, the internet bookings will open at 7pm for the following Sunday 16th August. (100% of the sheet online)
- Sunday 9th August, the internet booking will open at 7pm for the following Monday 17th August. (100% of the sheet online)
The above times will then repeat each week. The Priority booking sheet will continue at 1pm on Tuesday and Friday.
Continuation of the lottery booking system
The internet booking times will follow the same system as we are currently using, we believe the “lottery system” is the fairest and most equitable system. We can control the amount of users in the system at any one time and the system doesn’t give an advantage to internet speeds or multiple device users.
Lifting of all local rules
As of Monday 3rd August, all local rules will be lifted except for the preferred lies in bunkers.
Changes to Clubhouse, Reception and Bunker Bar operations.
The Clubhouse will continue with restricted operations until all COVID-19 restrictions are lifted. This will include our food and beverage offering to both members and visitors. The current restrictions do not allow us to return to our function capabilities as we had prior. We will continue to operate on a single use operation, meaning either the Bunker Bar or upstairs area will be offered at any one time. Each area has an iPad for members and visitors to sign in to for COVID recording purposes. A major part of the Club’s COVID Safety plan is the adherence of our members and guests to remaining seated and not mingling with other groups whilst in the Clubhouse and terrace area. Please help our staff in respecting the conditions imposed on our operating procedures during this time.
The hours of operation will be as follows:
Monday – Bunker bar only – 9am till 6pm
- Tuesday – Bunker bar 9am till 6pm
- Wednesday – Bunker bar 8am till 3pm – Members bar 3pm till 6.30pm
- Thursday – Members bar only 11am till 6pm
- Friday – Bunker bar 9am till 6.30pm
- Saturday – Bunker bar 8am till 3pm – Members bar 3pm till 7pm
- Sunday – Bunker bar only 8am till 6pm
