Coronavirus Update

 In response to the rising rates of the COVID-19 virus, Mona Vale Golf Club would like to reassure our members and guests that your safety and the safety of those in our community are of a great concern to us.

Our Club staff have been briefed on updated measures, to ensure our Club is a safe and clean environment. As you can appreciate information and guidelines on management are rapidly changing, and the following guidelines are currently adopted at the Club. We would prefer if visitors to the Club that are demonstrating signs of a runny nose, a cough, sneezing and temperature, that they consider the necessity of their visit.

Please note that if you plan to visit the club and have recently been on international travel, the Australian Government has announced a self-isolation for 14 days for all travellers to Australia. We request that you adhere to the government’s direction for everyone’s safety.

If you have recently returned from overseas travel and have been in contact with friends or family who have demonstrated the above symptoms and are unwell, or you yourself are demonstrating the above symptoms, please consider seeking medical advice regarding self-isolation and treatment.

 

What action the Club is taking to ensure your safety

  • Creating awareness amongst our members and visitors as to the best practices to limit the risk of spreading this to others.
  • Increase sanitisation and cleaning of clubhouse facility
  • Sign posting information regarding personal hygiene practices to limit spread of viral infection within the clubhouse
  • Monitoring advice from health authorities on a daily basis to alter practices as recommended
  • Accessing whether upcoming functions will proceed as planned in light of new information from authorities as it comes to hand.

 

General principles of limiting spread of viral flu like illnesses

  • Avoid close contact with people who are suffering flu like illness where possible.
  • Minimise hand contact with your eyes, nose and mouth.
  • Cover your cough.
  • Stay home when sick.
  • Clean household and shared implements and surfaces.
  • Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds. Do this regularly during social interactions.
  • These measures will help reduce person to person transmission.

We appreciate that this is generating much concern in the community, and we believe that the above measures will assist in the Clubs effort to mitigate risks to our members and visitors.
