16th June 2019 v Rosnay @ Rosnay
Our Masters Pennants team won away at Rosnay 6 to 1 & 1/2.
This win advances us through to the finals series !!!!
MVGC are also guaranteed to be in Division 1 for next year.
A few highlights:
1) Bruce Edwards flew his drive onto the 276m Par 4 3rd Hole – nearly knocking out Hemsley & Stanford.
2) Mark Pearson almost making an albatross on the Par 5 12th – nearly knocking out Hemsley & Stanford again.
3) Greg Stanford played faultless golf to finish under par a seal a solid victory.
The finals start in 3 weeks for MVGC.
2nd June 2019 v Asquith @ Asquith
Mona Vale were defeated by a strong Asquith at Asquith on Sunday 5 matches to 2 & 1/2.
There were some tight losses but Asquith were in front all day and deserved the win.
It has been said “this is the loss we had to have”.
The ever reliable Stefan Albinski & Trevor Beale played magnificently to win while Greg Stanford sealed an important Half with a 10 foot putt on the 18th.
“Moving Forward” we have to beat Rosnay at Rosnay in 2 weeks to win our division and progress to the finals.
19th May 2019 v Asquith @ Mona Vale
Mona Vale defeated Asquith 5/2&half at Mona Vale on Sunday
This was a must win for us against a quality team and we didn’t disappoint
Solid wins to Steve Whitmore and Mike McKinnon paved the way for the rest of the team, with our number 1&2 Mark Pearson and Bruce Edwards finishing the job off.
We now have 3 away games and will need to win 2 of these to progress through to the finals.
5th May 2019 v Rosnay @ MVGC
Mona Vale successfully clean sweeped the plucky Rosnay on Sunday to keep our unbeaten record.
We remain unbeaten and in fact haven’t lost an individual game.
Our depth was on full display (even though no one was watching) as we pushed through the eye of the storm in Cyclonic conditions last Sunday.
Our closest match had the Wily Stefan Albinski on the brink of defeat at 2 down with 6 to play. Stefan proceeded to shoot 1 under the next 5 holes to steal victory on the 17th hole.
28th April 2019 v Macarthur Grange @ MVGC
Our reigning Masters Pennants Team started the defence of our title with a solid clean sweep victory over Macarthur Grange at MVGC last Sunday.
Our course was in magnificent shape with the fast true greens too difficult for the visitors
