The annual Royal Sydney Senior Medal was contested on Monday 18th March with Mona Vale Golf Club’s Greg Stanford winning the event with an impressive gross score of 73.
The Senior Medal is a men’s event open to golfers aged 55 years and older off a handicap of 10.4 or less. Entry is by invitation to those individuals who finished in the top 40 of the 2018 Golf NSW Senior Order of Merit in addition to members of select Sydney Metropolitan golf clubs.
A field of 84 players competed and despite heavy rain in the lead up to the event the skies cleared and Greg Stanford finished two shots in front of three players finishing second with 75. Not only did Greg win the overall Gross event but also took out the over 65 years category.
Congratulations to Greg and well done also to John Karren for representing Mona Vale as well.
