2018 Mona Vale Medal – Vardon Event

Our annual Vardon event, the Mona Vale Medal was contested on Saturday 17th November by 50 very talented players.

The field contained 37 players on a handicap of 4 or better and of that 9 of them have a handicap of scratch or better. Despite the obvious ability of the players the course played tough and the majority of the field struggled to play to their handicaps.

The best scores of the day were had by our 2015 Club Champion Alex Munro, and our 2018 Club Champion Kyle Grant  who both shot 69 off the stick!

The 18 hole play-off on Saturday 24th November featured some great golf by both players.

Kyle got off to a great start with an eagle on the first hole and a birdie on the third hole, finishing the front nine 2 under par and Alex even par.

Alex had a fantastic run of holes through the middle of the course shooting 4 under through 5 holes to take the lead.

Very steady golf from there confirmed Alex as the winner, shooting 2 under for the day.

Congratulations to our Mona Vale Medallist for 2018, Alex Munro, and well done to both Alex and Kyle for an outstanding finish to our Vardon event.

Well done to all those that competed, the results can be accessed below.
