Congratulations to our Mona Vale ladies Grade Pennants team who faced their toughest challenge today in round one, travelling to Royal Sydney to play Royal Sydney.<\/p>\n

12th<\/sup>\u00a0Green Update<\/h4>\n

In January, the 12th<\/sup>\u00a0green suffered some damage due to heat stress. In the recent renovation, the soil profile was increased in certain parts of green, this makes the green much more vulnerable during the hot days of summer. Unfortunately, some areas of the green needed to be replaced and other small parts have been hand hollow cored to allow air though the profile. The height of the green has been increased and will remain slightly longer than the other greens until the end of summer. This is not desired, however, we will do whatever is required to enable the green to recover to full health.<\/p>\n

7th<\/sup>\u00a0Green Surrounds<\/h4>\n

Over the past few months, the front of the 7th<\/sup>\u00a0green has shown signs of disease and uneven turf. It appeared the drainage in the green has stopped working. Sam and his team removed the turf from the front of the green and collar, lowered the level to allow surface water to exit the green. Even though these works were successful, the issue was in the sand profile (300 mm deep) as well as the surface. Sam located the old drainage in the front and side of the green and replaced the storm water outlet, which carries the water from the greens profile to the wetland on the left hand side.<\/p>\n

As you can see below in the photos, a huge job, completed in two days, repaired and replaced and most members wouldn’t know anything occurred. Great Job Sam and the greens team.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n

Course Care<\/h4>\n

I would like to thank all the members, who have observed the new collar ropes and directional signs. The collars on the 1st, 2nd\u00a0and 11th\u00a0have shown a vast improvement with the wear being spread to the outsides of the bunkers and the use of the concrete pathway. Please continue this practice as every bit helps, the big test will be winter, when the couch grass collars are not growing and recovery from wear is very slow. Just a reminder about repairing pitch marks during the summer season when the greens are generally softer than normal. Please ensure you repair your pitch and at least one other. Please fill your divots on both the fairway and in the rough, the recovery of a divot is twice as quick, if sand is applied. Thanks again, every bit helps.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Covid restrictions<\/h4>\n
\n

With today’s easing of restrictions for Greater Sydney we can allow more people into our dining areas including the Bunker Bar, Main Bar and outside terrace area. The new 2 square metre rule will enable our patron capacity to increase and start to give us more options for hosting member and social events like we did this time last year.<\/p>\n

For the time being we will continue as we are in the Clubhouse, as the seating arrangements adhere to the continued health recommendations of 1.5 metre spacing between tables.<\/p>\n

The wearing of face masks remains a personal choice for everyone at all times however it is no longer a mandatory requirement for hospitality staff.<\/p>\n

We encourage everyone to continue to maintain safe social distancing where possible though and make use of the sanitiser stations throughout the Club. Stay safe.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
