The “Call”<\/u><\/h2>\n

We have decided to delay the return of the Tuesday and Friday night member’s “Call” in light of the recent advice from Golf NSW and the State Government. Bunker Bar and Outdoor Area<\/u><\/h2>\n

The Board have approved funds to improve the Bunker Bar and outdoor area. We are currently receiving plans and quotes for new outdoor furniture, shading and heating. We hope to have an additional 50-70 seats available outside, and with the warmer months approaching, I’m sure this area will be well utilised. We will continue to provide food and beverages in the Bunker Bar with some seasonal changes to the menu. A new electronic menu board will also be displayed.<\/p>\n

We intend to continue with our operation from the Bunker Bar for a prolonged period of time (see opening times below). We have cancelled all functions and events until the New Year and are only planning member’s Dine-In’s and specific member events which comply with current restrictions.<\/p>\n

Thank you for your patience during the past 6 months. The additional signing in, electronic score cards, new rules and regulations on both the Course and Clubhouse have tested all of us. However, as a Club, everyone has jumped on board. I would like to congratulate everyone for their efforts during this Covid-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n

Course Renovations and Upcoming Works<\/u><\/h2>\n

The current local rule of preferred lies in the bunker will be removed this Saturday 5th\u00a0September for the monthly medal. The rakes will be returned and we would ask all members to rake the bunkers following play. The green staff are now raking bunkers on a weekend to improve the presentation of the course, so please make every effort to rake the area you have played from and leave the bunker the way you found it.<\/p>\n

Greens renovations went very well and the weather has been kind to date. The recovery for the greens during the cooler months is a little slower, so it will take around four weeks for the greens to recover and a little longer to get back to the greens speeds we are used too.
\nLocal Rule:<\/u><\/b>
\nRepair of aeration holes on the putting green, under rule 13.1c- (2) you are not permitted to repair aeration holes or verti-mowing grooves. However, the match committee has decided to re-introduce a local rule, which allows a person to take relief from a core hole, max 3cm, no nearer the hole.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0green surrounds<\/b>\u00a0are currently being scarified and cored and this should take around 1 week to complete. This is a messy renovation, however, the recovery is quick and the greens surrounds will bounce back with the definition becoming very clear. \u00a0The\u00a0fairway renovations<\/b>\u00a0begin this Sunday with the contractors to commence scarifying the fairways in the afternoon. We are looking to be finished by Monday afternoon. Once the scarifying is complete, Sam will core the fairways with the large verti-drain. These cores are left on the surface to dry, then rubbed into the grass to give a light top dressing. The cores which are left on the surface always cause a lot distress to golfers. We recommend walking down the rough during this period.<\/p>\n

Please be patient during the renovation. This is part of the annual practice and the big reason why our fairways are so good for the majority of the year. The entire green staff team will be working on the fairways next week, which will include the big Wednesday and Thursday competition days. We hope to complete the renovation in a little over a week, weather permitting. Preferred lies will be in play for the coming weeks as well as the “line of sight rule” for working machinery. If your line of play is in the direct line of the large coring machine, you are permitted to move side-ways, though no nearer the hole, to improve safety.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n

Increased Course Usage and Bundy Clock<\/u><\/p>\n

\n

There is no doubt that golf is proving to be a very safe and well desired activity during the Covid-19 pandemic. We have seen competition fields increase and public play is up around 28% compared to the same period last year. Speed of play during the competition rounds on our main days have been good. We would like to remind all members that the bundy clock is also in use in Sunday Competitions.\u00a0 Please bundy stamp one card within the group immediately after your round. Groups who fail to stamp their card will receive the slow play notification. Three notifications will result in a penalty from the Match committee.<\/p>\n

Ranger Activity<\/h4>\n

In light of the above information, we have decided to increase the use of the course ranger. The course ranger will now be used on Sundays and the busy public days.
